Standing on the Edge

Author diane

I am a self-professed control freak who found yoga, meditation, and NLP to manage self-induced stress. I obsess over anatomy books, full moons, and the mysteries of being human. I have been practicing various styles of yoga and meditation for over twenty years. I am a master NLP Practitioner, I am registered with the Yoga Alliance as an RYT-500 yoga teacher. I am also a certified meditation instructor and Ayurvedic practitioner.

Like a favorite pair of warm slippers, I prefer the comfort of what I know. Creating and launching a website and figuring out what to offer has pushed me well beyond my limits. I’ve procrastinated, fussed with content, and debated whether I could do this. But I realize this has been a convenient way to avoid what I fear: moving forward into unknown places. I feel like I’m standing on the edge, unsure if I’ll step into safety or plunge into a chasm,

I think of Stephen Mitchell’s translation of this passage from the Bhagavad Gita: “You have the right to your actions, but never to your actions’ fruits. Act for the action’s sake, and do not be attached to action.”

So, like the archer aiming and letting go, I hope I hit the mark or come close. I want to inspire you to watch the moon rise, take a deep breath, and appreciate yourself. Maybe I can inspire you to take one small step outside your comfort zone.

I don’t know where this path will take me. But I hope I find it by moving forward and letting go.
